Angela Pickard focuses on the processes as much as the outcomes of family mediation. A focal point for Angela working with clients is their mental health and well-being during the process of conflict resolution as well as with clients' families, friends and workplace as separation, divorce, and mediation itself can be a stressful experience. She facilitates the mediation process in a hopeful, neutral and respectful manner. Angela continually observes how mediation can be a very helpful and productive avenue for clients experiencing various levels of conflict.

Angela Pickard is the founder and principal family mediator of Reach Mediation Inc. She is an Accredited Family Mediator (Acc.FM. OAFM) with an Advanced Certificate in Conflict Management and Mediation from Conrad Grebel University College, University of Waterloo. She completed her internship with Riverdale Mediation in Toronto mediating cases with various mediators both on-site at the Family Law Information Centre (FLIC) and off-site. Angela is also a Roster Mediator at mediate393, inc. providing off-site subsidized parenting mediation services. As a Family Professional, Angela practices on teams with clients and their lawyers as a neutral family specialist providing facilitation, mediation and coaching (Peel Halton Collaborative and Collaborative Practice Toronto).

Angela is pursuing a doctoral program (Ph.D. candidate) in Public Health specializing in Social & Behavioural Health Sciences at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health University of Toronto. She is exploring the experiences of family mediation among families and mediators, their vulnerability to conflict and how this may impact personal, social and environmental factors.

Angela received her Masters in Social Work (M.S.W.) from Columbia University School of Social Work in New York City, Advanced Bachelor in Social Work (B.S.W.) from McGill University and Honors Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Hons.) from University of Western Ontario.
